Start of the Season for Girl’s Lacrosse

Hannah Daley, Contributer

This Monday, April 4th, marked the start of Lacrosse season for the both boys and girls. Senior girls Morgan Lunders and Amelia Vosen are particularly excited to kick off their last season on the team. Many of them have been playing with each other for a couple years and are excited to see what the underclassmen have to offer. “We have very talented underclassmen as well as upperclassmen. I think as the season nears we will be prepared to play against any team”, says Amelia.

Morgan and Amelia are both aiming at growing together as a team and become a top competitor in their section. Amelia says, “We tend to lose early in sections due to the fact that there is no class A or AA, so we are playing much bigger schools. We hope to make a run for state.”

Their season consists of thirteen regular games before playoffs, and their top competitors are Osseo, Park Center, Irondale, Anoka, and Spring Lake Park. “Our practices are two hours and consist of many different drills such as shooting, practicing zones like defense/offense, and conditioning”, says Morgan. These girls are ready to take on the season with their hard work during practice. Their first game is at 6:30pm on April 18th, against Spring Lake Park, one of their top competitors. Come out and support your girl’s Lacrosse team!
