After ending their 2015 season 9-11 against Irondale in the first round of playoffs, senior captain Julia Sullwold, junior captain Lexi Radotich, and the rest of the team are more excited than ever to begin their 2016 season.

With four starters back on the team from last season (Julia Sullwold, Lexi Radotich, senior Kristina Schaffhausen and junior Alex Gannaway), Coach Sullwold feels this team will be very competitive in one of the best softball conferences in the state. However, they will need to fill some spots on the roster. Coach Sullwold feels they have athletes in the program that can help, including Erin Poepping and Maddie Brunn.

“We feel that this will be a fun team to watch as we will have some speed that will put pressure on our opponent’s defense as well as some power,” said Coach Sullwold.

Captains Sullwold and Radotich are both excited for the season to begin as they have confidence in their team and high hopes of making a trip to the state tournament this season. “I feel good about going into our new season. We dropped a class for sections and state, and I think we will have a lot of potential with our underclassmen. The ultimate goal this season is to make it to state,” said Lexi Radotich.

The team kicks off their season on April 12, at 4:30 at Irondale.
