Many students work out at Totino-Grace high school, but very few know the advantages of coming into the fitness center before school begins.  For some people, their schedules after school make it almost impossible for them to work out. Whether it be homework, sports, or work, the life of a high-school student can be very hectic after school.

When interviewing a teacher at Totino- Grace, about the schedule after school, she stated: “ Every day I only have 10 or 15 minutes, because I have to pick up my children”. According to Bodybuilding.com, working out before school can lead to an increase in productivity, in one’s metabolism, and overall mood throughout the day. As a person works out, endorphins are released throughout the body, and even though you may be groggy and tired at the beginning of the morning, as soon as your blood begins to start moving. It is proven to put one in a better mood.

One strong believer in working out before the day starts is the English Teacher Tom Kocon. Kocon can be found in the fitness center around 6:15 every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Fridays,  you can do planks with the English teacher, and brush up on your conjunctive adverbs, and adjectives.

Consider working out before school for the health and schedule benefits.
