2016-2017 Mission Trips

The 2016-2017 mission trips have been announced and students who have applied for them will soon know if they’ve been selected. The mission trips last anywhere from 2 days to a full week of service and fun.

What are Mission Trips?

There will be 13 mission trips during this school year going to a wide variety of locations, from the Twin Cities Area to Montana to Texas to New York City! Students going on these trips will travel by van, plane, and train across the country to learn, serve, and grow as people.

Why Go On a Mission Trip?

Mission trips are popular for many reasons. “Going on a mission trip allows you to grow in several ways – Academically, you are exposed to a whole new set of skills and understanding a topic you maybe knew very little about before your trip (i.e poverty/homelessness, immigration, under achieving students, etc). Socially, you are exposed to a group of students that you maybe did not know so well before your trips. The relationships you build with other students on a mission trip are truly relationships you will carry for the rest of your life. The memories and bond you have with one another is something that will continuously keep you connected.” says Mrs. Bennington, the mission trip coordinator of campus ministry.

Examples of some of the kinds of service are building homes, tutoring children, and doing an immigration immersion trip. No matter what kind of location or type of service you want to be involved with, there is an option that fits every student.
