Voyageurs National Park

This year was the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Association; the National Parks Association has been an amazing part of the U.S.’s country. To celebrate 100 years of national parks, the NPA is offering 16 days of free admission to certain Parks and monuments (for a list of the parks and monuments, see here: Free Entrance Days). This summer is the best time to go on a trip to a national park. This link can help you plan your visit and give you information about the parks (Plan Your Visit).

Minnesota has one National Park, Voyageurs National Park. Unfortunately, Voyageurs didn’t make it on to the Free Entrance Days list, but it is still a beautiful place to go visit. Voyageurs National Park is a park full of lakes and islands near International Falls that was created in 1975.

There are multiple things to do in the park, like canoeing, camping (for information on camping, click here; camping information), hiking, and taking ranger guided tours.  There are boat charter tours available, and plenty of activities to do in the winter, like skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
