Catholic Jamboree

On Saturday, December 3rd, the E’Gals hosted a competition with a number of schools including teams from Benilde St. Margaret’s, St. Cloud Cathedral, Holy Family, and Holy Angels.  This was the 7th Annual Catholic Jamboree where dancers and their families raised money for the Ronald McDonald House. All proceeds from ticket sales, food and raffle are donated to the this cause. This year the E’Gals asked everyone who attended to bring an item for the charity ‘Wish List’ to donate, such as household items, food, school supplies, toys, etc. The E’Gals set up collection boxes in the entryway of the school and in the Commons Area for people to drop off their items.

Walking in the doors on the day of the competition and seeing all the dancers together for such a good cause was awesome. Awards weren’t handed out, but you could tell that the dancers still gave it their all. They were excited to dance for such a good cause and by the end of the day, the boxes overflowing with food items and christmas toys. It was clear the Catholic Jamboree was a success!

Although no awards were given (so that the event wasn’t based on competition, but just for the good of the charity) Varsity scored first in jazz and kick and JV scored first in kick and second in jazz.
