Dancing from the start: A profile of Allie Wollman

Andrea Hoyt, Contributor

Many of you know senior Allie Wollman. What you might not know, however, is that she has been on varsity for kick and jazz since freshman year. She was the only freshman girl in her class to do so. It’s obvious that she has an amazing passion for the sport.

Allie has been dancing since the age of three. Allie was influenced to start dancing by her older sister. “A lot of it had to do with my older sister Natalie, she was in dance since she was three as well and seeing her dance made me want to follow in her footsteps and be like her,” said Allie. She used to play soccer and track but said, “they got boring and didn’t keep me interested.”

Allie’s feelings toward dance have “for sure grown. I have more of a want for the team. It is very different going from dancing for a studio and doing solos, to being a part of a team. I have a huge want for the team to do well and succeed.”

What’s next for Allie on the road of dance? Well, surely it’s not over! Allie’s ultimate dream goal is to dance for the University of Madison-Wisconsin.
