Live A Life Of Service!

Through doing volunteering, you learn important life lessons about yourself and others, such as manners, respect, honesty, gratefulness and developing a heart to help others.  Volunteering does not always mean going to Feed My Starving Children, Sharing and Caring Hands, Mary’s Place.  It can and that is great, however sometimes the smallest actions make the biggest impacts.  Something as simple as smiling at someone to brighten their day, saying a prayer for them, paying for a coffee for the person behind you, give a nice compliment, many random acts of kindness take very little time, cost nothing, and change someone’s whole day!

According to make a difference, the definition of random act of kindness is, “A selfless act performed by kind people to either help or cheer up a random stranger, for no reason other than to make people happier.”  You can choose whether to plan the act in advance or just do it spontaneously.  You never know what someone is going through, and a simple act could change their day, or even better be something that they remember for the rest of their lives.

KTIS, a Christian radio station has one event the first Friday of every month, it is called The Drive Thru Difference.  The simple meaning behind the name is if you find yourself at a gas station, going through a drive through, or really any place where you have someone behind you, you can participate!  On the KTIS website, you can print off little sheets to give to the cashier to hand to the person behind you, it reads, “Hi! You don’t know me but I’ve just paid for your order.  No gimmicks- it’s just something I felt like doing.  I heard about people doing things for others on radio station KTIS at 98.5 on the dial.  They call it ‘the drive thru difference.’  Maybe you’ll feel like doing it for someone else!  I hear that KTIS loves to share the stories on the air!  Their phone number is 651-631-5050.  I hope this encourages you today!  Signed, the stranger in the car ahead of you!”  Here is the link in case you want to print off some copies.
