TG Beats Blaine on Friday night

As the Totino-Grace football team started their second half to their season they had a tough test against the 3-1 Blaine team. After a strong showing by both teams of controlling the game, Totino-Grace led 14-7 at halftime. After a scoreless 3rd quarter both offenses opened up in the 4th quarter. After a touchdown by Blaine with 1:23 left on the clock they went for the onside kick and recovered it. After the failed recovery by Totino-Grace, they locked down their defense and stopped the Blaine offense on 4th down to turn the ball over on downs and close out the game with a 21-14 win.

The double running threat of Ivan Burlak and Gayflor Flomo combined for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game. This was lower than their combined average of 162.6 average yards per game so far this year. Senior quarterback Kyle Halverson was 10 for 18 with 131 yards passing, despite throwing 2 interceptions in the game.

The Totino-Grace team will have a tough opponent this week with Champlin Park. They have a great offense with starting sophomore quarterback Bennett Otto. He is averaging 160.2 passing yards per game while the team is averaging 22.4 points per game.

The game is this Friday at 7:00 pm at Totino-Grace. Come out and support your Eagles during this homecoming week!
